Our relationship with reality can
produce, in the sphere of the representation and language of science, a model
which, replacing things, constitutes for us a simulacrum built
to our measurements. This simulacrum, this perceptive image, is capable on
the other hand of protecting us from the unpredictability of becoming: the
meaning of episteme, of science, includes that of might, of the
possibility of controlling reality. It is different in the artistic sphere,
where an intuitive impulse seems to be at work, pressing us to penetrate things
and making ourselves become one with them.
Now art can be the place where language is set free, language released from
the conventions and the arbitrariness of signs, therefore open to the multiple
meanings- polysemic - of reality and to the ‡omplexity of its relationships,
therefore going beyond the mirror, and grasping aspects of reality that are
not apparent, nor familiar, accepting also a global, total image, as the experience
of reuniting the fields of cognition and of experience, the final step in
the transformative course of man and reality. Thus, the work of art of the
future will belong to the person who is able to find in his creativity the
utopian strength of the person who wants to assert the impersonality of the
objective value of life, believing in the contrapositions between worlds of
different values, in order to develop and mature a culture, and expand the
horizons of the meaning of the world, the person who, therefore, aspires to
refound the beauty of the cosmos and entrust to art that which Goethe called
the genius of action.
